Such a situation that exposes this little one to harm at the enjoyment of the photographer shows that Social studies teachers have a lot to do as regards citizenship education. ICT should not be used to harness such unreasoned behaviors.
Great pic and even better reflection! I agree with you that ICT is a tool (just like the knife in this young child's hand). I also like the picture because it shows that just as the child is unaware of the potential danger of the knife, so too are many users of ICT.
How do you think Social studies teachers can help? Is it by having some type of ethics component in their classes which hopefully the photographer will be exposed to and refrain from doing what he did? Or is it by enlightening the parents, guardians and others around the child to the rights of the child not to be exposed to danger?
